It is said the noblest of profession is the job of imparting education among young minds, pruning them for the greatest responsibility of carrying on the hopes and dreams of the present demographic to the future. These children may possess varied visions and intellectual capabilities but they are the future pillars of a country. Hence it is the responsibility of the parents and the Government to make sure that all of their hopes and dreams are rightly carried on to the imminence no matter how diverse and miniscule it may be. Special children are now the euphemistic term of the mentally/ physically disabled children. They have been given the specific term in an attempt to discard the variations among the children as a whole and to make them feel normal and fitting in any setting. Teachers who are training such children are called as special education teachers, special education resource teacher, inclusion teacher or self-contained special education teacher.
Diversity Only In Their Name Not In Their Determination
These teachers for special education are highly specialized in instructing the different types of children who are either physically or mentally disabled. Though the qualifications for a special education teacher are the same as a normal teacher, these people should have done a specialization course in the subject with plenty of patience, determination and dedication with love and affection for such children. They are called by different names according to the domicile where these teachers educate the children. While some of them provide private classes, several others are engaged in the normal school activities collaborating with the other teachers, speech or physical therapists and the parents. It is required of them to be in constant communication with these people to follow the individual special curriculum designed by them for these children. These teachers for special education mostly teach the children in their primary and middle school ages where they struggle a lot in coping up with the other children. These teachers form the epitome of sacrifice in that they experience the most stress among other professions.
